We recognize the importance of giving back, so for every tree removal or stump grinding, that we do, we have committed to planting another, else where. The importance of trees is immense to all of us, so it's the least we can do...our part.
We provide a wide range of services including tree removal, pruning, tree health checks, stump grinding, root tracing, land clearing, fire lines, forest thinning and dead wooding, and of course, snow removal services, in the winter.
Usually a stump is ground out to a minimum of 8 inches, depending on the root depth. A root ball can easily go as deep as its radius, and we do our best to eliminate it. We can add on a root tracing service, which would trace back and remove the surface roots. Though, as a caviat, the tap root can go quite deep and, therefore, may not be eliminated.
Yes, however we do not suggest it, especially for spruce trees. If this is something you would like to further discuss, we would be happy to look at this, with you, and talk about options.
Prices start at a minimum call-out fee of $250.00. That being said, the price is determined by size of tree, accessibility, difficulty of removal, and proximity to structures. We do not price by the foot or by the "hour", and there is no fee for an estimate. We base our prices on the problem that we solve, as well as the result we provide, for you.
Yes, we offer additional maintenance suggestions, to ensure your space remains pristine. After a tree stump is ground out, often there will be more material than there is to grade (to the level surface of the ground). The material from a larger stump may be considered as "hot compost" and may take some time to breakdown, and hence be able to apply seed. Particularly spruce trees create an acid soil, where the needles have fallen (to a PH of 4.5-5). Most other plants, including grass, prefer a range of a PH 6-6.9. Therefore, the soil in that area should be planned to be replaced, so as to create better growing conditions for future sod. Short version, unless you want to put another pine tree, in that area, other plants won't do well.
If you would like to keep the fire wood rounds on your property, or give them away, that is an option (only with some species for trees, though - ask a team member for more info). You can also team up with neighbours, which would provide you with a reduction in price.
We offer a comprehensive range of snow surfaces for town homes, back alleys, residential spec lots, driveways, commercial properties. We do not use a blade or heavy vehicle/machinery, for residential properties and driveways, only hand-driven machines. We can offer salting and icing, and pricing would follow, depending on size of property. Salting and icing can only function correctly, if there is proper grade or elevation for drainage available. Otherwise, in some instances, salting could worsen the ice problem. In this case, sanding might be an option. Should you request us to use the blue salt, we can but do not prefer it, as it is agressive on concrete. We prefer to use an organic "salt", which is granular sodium, coated with degraded beet sugar. This is pet-friendly and non-corrosive to concrete or other surfaces.
We pride ourselves on our expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to customer satisfaction. With years of experience and a passion for helping you find joy in your space, we strive to exceed your expectations, on every job.
